SOLUTIONS FOR YOUR BUILDING TYPE

Health and aged care

Bed and stretcher elevators for hospitals, health care centres and aged care homes. Smooth for patients, dependable for staff, and looked after by one team for the life of your building.

WHY IT MATTERS

Elevators that care can rely on

In a hospital or aged care home, an elevator is part of patient care. Beds, stretchers and equipment need to move between floors smoothly and on time, day and night. VTS designs, installs and services elevators around those demands, with precise floor levelling for safe transfers, quiet operation for patients and residents, and priority service response when it matters most.

FEATURES

Built for healthcare

Smooth, precise ride

Variable-frequency (VVVF) control stops the car within ±5 mm of the floor, so beds and wheelchairs roll in and out without a bump. Soft starts and stops keep patients comfortable.

Gearless and oil-free

A permanent magnet synchronous machine needs no lubricating oil and has an independent braking system, for quieter running, cleaner machine spaces and less maintenance.

Lower energy use

A regenerative drive returns braking energy to the building's supply, and standby power is under 50 W. That matters in a building where elevators run around the clock.

Safety as standard

Protection against unintended car movement (UCMP) is fitted as standard, with door safety circuits that protect people as the car arrives and the doors open.

Fits new and existing buildings

A compact layout with the counterweight at the side or rear suits narrow or irregular shafts, so the 5000H works for new hospitals and for upgrades to older buildings.

Cars sized for care

We size the car and doors for your beds, stretchers and equipment, and choose durable, easy-clean finishes with you to suit a clinical or residential setting.

HOW WE WORK

One team for the life of your elevator

Our team installs, tests and commissions every elevator, and plans the work around a building that may already be in use.

Modernise

When existing elevators age, we upgrade key parts or replace the whole elevator, staged to keep your building moving.

Common questions

Can the elevator carry a hospital bed?

Yes. The 5000H is configured with a car size and rated load to suit your beds and stretchers. Tell us the bed and equipment dimensions and we will size the car and doors to fit.

What happens if an elevator breaks down?

Under a VTS service agreement, health and aged care buildings get priority breakdown response. Call 1300 VTS MOVE (1300 887 668) at any time.

Can you upgrade our existing elevators?

Yes. We can modernise key parts such as the machine, controller and doors, or replace the whole elevator. We stage the work so that, where possible, at least one elevator keeps running.

Do your elevators meet Australian Standards?

Yes. VTS elevators are designed and installed to comply with AS 1735 and the National Construction Code (NCC 2022).

Will it fit our existing shaft?

Often, yes. The compact layout and side or rear counterweight suit many existing shafts. We survey the shaft, headroom and pit and confirm the right option for your building.
